We'll know soon enough if West has achieved the same quality - and at the very least, he's once again brought us some cool retro promo posters to ogle. To be fair, The House of the Devil didn't exactly make waves with its first trailer (it was more the retro-style promo posters that gained attention), and that film turned out to be a gem. Hopefully working with West (who is once again taking on writing and directing duties) will break Paxton's bad track record in this genre. Between starring in the Last House on the Left remake - and more recently Shark Night 3D - leading lady Sara Paxton is on the way to becoming a symbol for not-so-good horror flicks. The scariest things about the trailer are the sight of a that naked old man and the realization that the old woman smoking in the window who offers Claire help is actually Top Gunhottie Kelly McGillis. Now check out The Innkeepers trailer below (via iTunes trailers): As the Inn's final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage "ghost hunters" begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel's long unexplained history. The last remaining employees - Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke ( Pat Healy) - are determined to uncover proof of what many believe to be one of New England's most haunted hotels. Today we have the first trailer for The Innkeepers to share, but before we get to it here's a little bit about the film:Īfter over one hundred years of service, The Yankee Pedlar Inn is shutting its doors for good. West succeeded in creating a modern film that still made me feel nostalgic for the horror films of my youth - and it looks like he's going to attempt to once again impress with the upcoming horror flick, The Innkeepers.
The movie was well-crafted, creepy, and definitely more fun on a Friday night than the unruly audiences in a Paranormal Activity theater. One of my favorite video on demand experiences to date was watching writer/director Ti West's '80s horror throwback flick, House of the Devil (read our Review).
